Knowsley - Team Manager - Child Protection Team
Knowsley Borough Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to join their Child Protection Team.
Location :- Westmorland Road, Huyton
Payrate :- Depending on Experience
Hybrid working :- 3 days office based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of social workers and practitioners delivering child protection services.
- Ensure children and young people are safeguarded and protected from harm, in line with statutory duties and safeguarding procedures.
- Provide effective case management oversight, ensuring timely assessments, planning, interventions, and reviews.
- Monitor the quality of practice and decision-making to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
- Manage complex and high-risk child protection cases, providing guidance and professional expertise to staff.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Chair and contribute to strategy meetings, case discussions, and multi-agency safeguarding forums.
- Promote effective partnership working with families, schools, health services, police, and other key agencies.
- Support staff development through supervision, coaching, performance management, and training.
- Manage team performance, workloads, and resources to ensure service objectives are met.
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to service development initiatives.
- Prepare reports, analyse performance data, and provide updates to senior management.
- Foster a culture of reflective practice, accountability, inclusion, and professional excellence.
- Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns, complaints, and escalations as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
