Knowsley - Social Worker - Looked After Children (LAC) Team
I'm recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join Knowsley Borough Council's Looked After Children (LAC) Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated team making a real difference in children's lives.
Location: Westmorland Road, Huyton
Pay Rate: Up to £39/hour (Umbrella)
Hybrid Working: 3 days office-based
Key Responsibilities:
- Holding a caseload of Looked after Children
- Undertaking Core Assessments
- Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries
- Undertaking Viability Assessments
- Undertaking Kinship Assessments
- Undertaking Risk Assessments
- Producing Annex B reports
- Undertaking Regulation 38 Assessments
- Undertaking Special Guardian Assessments
- Liaising/ Working close with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children'/ young people's needs
- Preparing & implementing Care Plans
- Attending court and giving evidence when required
- Obtaining Interim Care Orders/Interim Supervision Orders
- Initiating Care Proceedings
- Completion of Care Proceedings
- Obtaining Special Guardianship Orders
- Producing Child Permanency Reports
- Reviewing Financial payments received by kinship carers/ or carers granted Residence Orders/Special Guardianship Orders
- Preparing looked after children review reports
- Initiating Personal Education Plans (PEP's)
- Producing Health Care Assessments and Health Plans
- Making referrals for Foster Placements
- Preparing children for placements
- Implementing Twin Tracking processes for children in care proceedings
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
