Knowsley - QSW - Look After Children Team
Knowsley Borough Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their Looked After Service (Young Persons Team 14-18) Team.
Location :- Westmorland Road, Huyton, L36 6GA
Payrate :- Up to £39.00 Per hour (Umbrella)
Hybrid working :- 3 days office based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children in care aged 14-18, ensuring effective care planning, statutory visits, and timely documentation.
* Develop and review robust, risk-informed care and pathway plans that support safety, stability, and independence.
* Build consistent, trusting relationships using a relational and trauma-informed approach, particularly with disengaged or resistant young people.
* Identify and respond to safeguarding risks including exploitation, missing episodes, offending behaviour, and mental health concerns.
* Lead dynamic risk assessment and implement clear, individualised safety planning.
* Deliver meaningful direct work to promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, identity, and independence skills.
* Support education, training, and employment engagement while ensuring young people's views shape planning.
* Work collaboratively with families, networks, and Leaving Care services to support safe transitions to adulthood.
* Contribute to multi-agency safeguarding and risk management processes with partners across education, health, police, and youth justice.
* Produce high-quality analytical reports for reviews, court, and multi-agency meetings.
* Maintain accurate, timely case recording in line with statutory and professional standards.
* Manage complex safeguarding situations within a fast-paced, high-risk service environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
