Qualified Social Worker - Children with Disabilities Team, Knowsley
Location: 2nd Floor, Nutgrove Villa, Westmorland Road, Huyton, L36 6GA
Pay: £39.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Knowsley Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join their Children with Disabilities Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities and their families, ensuring they receive the support, care, and advocacy they need to thrive.
Role Overview:
As a QSW within the Children with Disabilities Team, you will provide professional social work support, assessment, and planning for children with complex needs. You will work closely with families, carers, schools, and other professionals to develop and implement care plans that promote the safety, well-being, and development of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop care plans tailored to the individual needs of children with disabilities.
- Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, ensuring all voices are heard and needs addressed.
- Monitor and review children's progress, adapting plans and interventions as required.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to families and carers, acting as an advocate for the child.
- Maintain accurate, detailed case records and provide regular reports to management and statutory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice standards.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with current registration.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or in a related children's services role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage a complex caseload, and collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.
