Independent Reviewing Officer | Nottingham
Are you a dedicated and experienced social worker looking to make a significant impact in the lives of children and families? Nottingham City Council is seeking an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic team in the Qualified Social Work field. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard and that their needs are met through effective care planning and review processes.
Key responsibilities for the Independent Reviewing Officer include:
- Conducting regular and thorough reviews of care plans for children in care, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Facilitating multi-agency meetings to promote collaborative working relationships and effective communication.
- Advocating for the best interests of children and young people, ensuring their views and wishes are incorporated into decision-making.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and outcomes for children, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of reviews and meetings in accordance with local authority policies.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and statutory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound judgments based on evidence.
