Cheshire- Independent reviewing officer (IRO)-LAC Team

As an Independent Reviewing Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular reviews of care plans to ensure they meet the needs and aspirations of children and young people.
- Facilitating and chairing statutory reviews, ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard and considered.
- Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of looked after children.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvements.
- Providing direct support and guidance to children and young people, empowering them to participate in decisions affecting their lives.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and working with looked after children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
- A strong understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance related to looked after children.
