Bury - Advance Practitioner - Emergency Duty Team
I am currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Advanced Practitioner to join the Emergency Duty Team at Bury Council.
Location: Bradley Fold Road
Pay Rate: £40.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - 16:30 - 01:00
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a high-quality statutory social work service outside of normal working hours, responding to emergency and urgent situations.
- Undertake complex assessments, risk evaluations, and decision-making to ensure immediate safety and safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults.
- Lead on safeguarding enquiries and Section 47 investigations where required.
- Provide professional advice, guidance, and support to social workers and partner agencies during crisis situations.
- Make timely, defensible decisions in high-pressure environments, often with limited information.
- Liaise effectively with police, health services, and other emergency services to coordinate appropriate interventions.
- Manage and prioritise a diverse caseload of urgent referrals during duty shifts.
- Ensure all case recording and documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with statutory requirements and local procedures.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of EDT practice and service delivery.
- Support and mentor less experienced practitioners when required during duty periods.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
