EDEN BROWN SYENRGY is currently looking for an experienced Social Worker on Nottingham City Council, offering an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a well-established Emergency Duty Team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Requests for a service could be from either a child/family member/professional or member of the public.
  • Social care telephone support, advice and guidance to citizens, partners, and agencies.
  • Signposting relevant services
  • Receiving and prioritise
  • Responding to requests for MHA assessments
  • Responding to emergency safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults
  • Responding to emergency planning and links to the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for all services.
  • Responding to the social care response in line with the child death process.
  • A response to Significant Incident Briefings (SIB) on emergencies.
  • The accommodation of vulnerable children
  • Responses to alerts from daytime social work teams
  • A review of the Liquid Logic database will indicate whether the child/adult is known or not known, open or closed.
  • Where concerns are raised in relation to a child/adult who is open to a team and has an allocated social worker, the contact will be recorded on Liquid Logic. If the threshold is not met for an EDT emergency response, the team manager and allocated social worker will be notified.
  • For all requests, relating to a child/adult not allocated to a social worker, a contact will be added on Liquid Logic with an accompanying case note.
  • The role of EDT in child safeguarding work is to provide advice, investigate allegations of abuse, assess the level of risk, and take appropriate action to safeguard a child's welfare until the contact/information can be handed over to the relevant Children's Team on the next working day. It is recognised that a range of interventions will be considered, including action to safeguard the child's immediate safety.
  • EDT SW Must on receiving a referral: Check Liquid Logic to see if the child or family are known and/or on the child is subject to any plans or processes.
  • Ensure checking of Liquid Logic must be recorded as part of the information taken by the EDT social worker.
  • Ensure all contacts/information involving child safety and wellbeing should be made using the form available on Liquid Logic or recorded directly on the child's record if an open case.
