About the Role
You will take ownership of a caseload of aged complex statutory reviews under Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996, ensuring decisions are robust, defensible, and compliant with legislative requirements.
This role is output-focused, ideal for professionals who are confident working at pace without compromising quality. You will be instrumental in reducing backlog volumes and mitigating risk associated with delays, complaints, and legal challenge.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver decisions within tight timescales to support backlog reduction
* Conduct high-quality statutory housing reviews (Parts 6 & 7) from end to end
* Make sound, legally robust decisions on homelessness and housing duties
* Assess the suitability of temporary accommodation in line with legislation and case law
* Manage complex and sensitive cases, including those at risk of escalation
* Work autonomously with minimal supervision in a remote setting

About You
We are looking for professionals who bring:
* Extensive experience as a Housing Review Officer within a local authority (London preferably)
* Proven track record of delivering high volumes of reviews efficiently
* Strong working knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Code of Guidance, and relevant case law
* Ability to produce clear, defensible decision letters
* Confidence handling complex enquiries and challenge
* A proactive, results-driven approach with excellent organisational skills
