Children's SW - LAC Team - London Borough of Tower Hamlets
The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people in our community. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in care, working collaboratively with families, schools, and various agencies to ensure the best outcomes for our children.
As a Children's Social Worker within the LAC Team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify needs and risks.
- Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals.
- Maintaining accurate and timely case records in accordance with statutory requirements and local policies.
- Attending court hearings and providing evidence where necessary to support the best interests of the child.
- Working closely with foster carers, residential staff, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and support.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working with children and families, particularly in a looked after children setting.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks affecting children in care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
