Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is currently seeking an experienced Youth Justice Officer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working within a well-established local authority.

Location: Council House, Solihull

Pay Rate: Up to £32.50 per hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise young people involved in the youth justice system, ensuring effective intervention and support plans are in place.
  • Undertake assessments of risk, needs, and safeguarding concerns using relevant frameworks and tools.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for courts, panels, and other statutory meetings.
  • Deliver targeted interventions aimed at reducing offending behaviour and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including social care, education, police, and health services, to support young people and their families.
  • Monitor compliance with court orders, bail conditions, and out-of-court disposals.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and public protection by identifying and managing risks effectively.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure all documentation is completed in line with statutory requirements and council policies.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and represent the Youth Justice Service professionally.
  • Support young people with resettlement, education, training, and employment opportunities to encourage long-term rehabilitation.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
