Job Overview:
Lancashire City Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join their Children & Youth Justice Team based in Burnley. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people involved in the youth justice system, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes and reduce reoffending.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people within the youth justice system
- Undertake comprehensive assessments, including AssetPlus assessments
- Develop and implement effective intervention plans
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including police, courts, education, and health services
- Prepare high-quality reports for court and attend hearings when required
- Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of children and young people is paramount
- Support rehabilitation and reintegration into the community
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Previous experience within Youth Justice, Youth Offending, or Children's Services
- Strong assessment, report writing, and court work experience
- Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS check required
