Wrexham Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Looked After Children (LAC) Team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in care while working within a supportive and established team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of looked after children and young people.
  • Undertake statutory visits and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans to promote positive outcomes.
  • Complete assessments, reports, and court-related work where required.
  • Work closely with foster carers, families, education providers, and partner agencies.
  • Participate in care planning, permanency planning, and pathway planning.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified and managed effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England or Social Care Wales registration.
  • Experience working within a Looked After Children, Children in Care, or similar children's social work team.
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, and safeguarding skills.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working abilities.
