Location: 31 Chester Street, Wrexham, LL13 8BG
Wrexham Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Looked After Children (LAC) Team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in care while working within a supportive and established team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of looked after children and young people.
- Undertake statutory visits and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
- Develop, implement, and review care plans to promote positive outcomes.
- Complete assessments, reports, and court-related work where required.
- Work closely with foster carers, families, education providers, and partner agencies.
- Participate in care planning, permanency planning, and pathway planning.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified and managed effectively.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England or Social Care Wales registration.
- Experience working within a Looked After Children, Children in Care, or similar children's social work team.
- Strong assessment, report-writing, and safeguarding skills.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively.
- Excellent communication and partnership-working abilities.
