The London Borough of Lambeth is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Team Manager to join our Safeguarding/Family Support and Child Protection (FSCP) Team. As an essential leader in our social work department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a team of social workers, providing supervision, support, and guidance to enhance their professional development.
  • Ensuring that assessments, plans, and interventions are of high quality and meet statutory requirements.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
  • Managing complex casework and ensuring that children’s voices are at the forefront of decision-making.
  • Monitoring and evaluating team performance, implementing improvements where necessary.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You should have substantial post-qualification experience in child protection and safeguarding, along with a proven track record of managing teams effectively. Essential skills include:

  • Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of legislation and policies relating to child welfare.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions.
