We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Long Term Child Protection and Children in Need Team in Barnet. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families. The position is available on a temporary basis, paying £37.54 per hour through an Umbrella Company. As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for the following key duties:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and ensuring high standards of practice.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case records in compliance with local authority policies.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategy discussions and interventions.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Social Work Degree, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience working within child protection and children in need settings.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in social work.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
