We are recruiting for a Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team at Derbyshire County Council. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive local authority, making a real difference to the lives of children with disabilities and their families.

About the Role

As a Social Worker within the Children with Disabilities Team, you will manage a varied caseload, complete assessments, develop care plans, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and improve outcomes for children and young people. You will build strong relationships with families while ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children with disabilities and their families.
  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments and statutory visits.
  • Develop, implement, and review care and support plans.
  • Work in partnership with education, health, and other professionals.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings, strategy discussions, and reviews.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are managed in line with legislation and local procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records.

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation.
  • Experience completing statutory assessments and care planning.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
