About the Role
Derbyshire Council is looking to recruit an experienced Social Worker to join its Child Protection Team on an ongoing agency contract. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established local authority committed to safeguarding children and supporting families through high-quality social work practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and Public Law proceedings.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families.
- Complete Section 47 enquiries and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement outcome-focused care and support plans.
- Prepare high-quality reports for court proceedings, case conferences, and statutory meetings.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory requirements and local procedures.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes.
- Experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising social workers.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.
