Tameside -Senior Practitioner- Duty & Assessment team

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Duty & Assessment team in Tameside. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing complex cases and providing high-quality social work services to vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Undertaking assessments and making evidence-based decisions to ensure the safety and well-being of children
  • Providing expert advice and support to less experienced team members
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with multi-agency partners
  • Participating in case conferences and court proceedings as required
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of services through reflective practice and feedback

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding work within a statutory setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with service users and professionals
  • Strong analytical and assessment skills, with a commitment to best practice and continuous professional development

In addition to the above requirements, candidates with experience in court work and Section 47 investigations will be highly regarded.
