Children's SW - Front Door Team - Devon

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Front Door Team in Devon. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in the region.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Assessing and responding to referrals concerning children at risk of harm or in need of support
  • Conducting initial assessments and making decisions on appropriate courses of action
  • Undertaking child protection investigations and working with families to develop plans for intervention
  • Collaborating with partner agencies and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
  • Participating in case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings as required

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience working in a children's social work setting, preferably within a Front Door Team
  • Strong assessment and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding
