Intervention & Care Planning Social Worker

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Locum Social Worker to join the Intervention and Care Planning team in Barnet. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a fast-paced statutory service supporting children and families who require assessment, intervention and longer-term care planning.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload and work closely with children, families, partner agencies and professionals to ensure that children are safeguarded and their needs are met through effective care planning.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory assessments, including Child in Need, Child Protection and court-related work.
Develop and implement outcome-focused care plans for children and families.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including schools, health services and the police.
Prepare high-quality reports for conferences, reviews and court proceedings.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements
Participate in child protection conferences, strategy meetings and looked-after reviews

About the Team
The Intervention and Care Planning team works with children and families where longer-term statutory involvement is required. Social workers in the team support children subject to Child Protection Plans, Children in Need plans and those entering care proceedings. The team focuses on building strong relationships with families, ensuring safety while promoting stability and positive outcomes for children.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Significant post-qualifying experience in children's statutory services.
Experience within Child Protection, Child in Need and court work.
3 years permanent experience working as a childrens social worker.
Strong assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively under pressure
