Principal Social Worker required for work within the Assessment Team in the North/South area in Powys and are offering good rates up to £38.28ph for the right candidates. Long term contracts offered in a well managed supportive team. Flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

Powys County Council is seeking an experienced Principal Social Worker to join the Assessment Team in North Powys. This is a key leadership role focused on driving high standards of practice, supporting frontline staff, and ensuring timely and effective safeguarding assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide practice leadership and oversight within the Assessment Team.
* Support and mentor social workers to ensure high-quality assessments and decision-making.
* Lead on complex cases and provide expert guidance on safeguarding and risk management.
* Ensure compliance with statutory duties, policies, and procedures.
* Work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure effective safeguarding outcomes.
* Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
