Job Title: Social Worker - Learning Disabilities
Location: Walsall (Adults Social Care)
Rate: £28.40 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Locum
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join the Learning Disabilities Team within Adults Social Care in Walsall. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive team focused on delivering high-quality, strengths-based interventions to adults with care and support needs.
Key Requirements
Essential: Proven experience working within a Learning Disabilities setting
Minimum 2 years post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker
Driver required with access to a vehicle
Candidates must comply with the Adults MOC (Memorandum of Cooperation) for the West Midlands
MOU form must be fully completed and submitted - applications without this will be rejected
Key Responsibilities
Undertake strengths-based assessments, care planning, and direct work with adults and their carers
Ensure all interventions are compliant with the Care Act 2014, statutory guidance, and local policies
Carry out safeguarding duties, ensuring protection from abuse or neglect
Work in a transparent, accountable, and safe manner in line with professional social work standards
