Stockport - Supervising Social Worker - Kinship Team
Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Supervising Social Worker to join their Kinship Team.
Location :- Piccadilly, Stockport
Payrate :-£35.00 Per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete viability and full kinship/connected persons assessments in line with fostering regulations.
- Provide regular supervision and ongoing support to kinship carers.
- Promote placement stability and prevent placement breakdown.
- Support carers to manage contact arrangements with birth families.
- Identify training needs and facilitate access to learning and development.
- Work in partnership with children's social workers and multi-agency professionals.
- Contribute to care planning, reviews, and foster/kinship panel processes.
- Ensure safeguarding standards and statutory requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate recordings, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support carers with therapeutic parenting and trauma-informed approaches.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
