Locum Occupational Therapist - 0-25 Adaptations

Eden Brown Synergy are recruiting for a Locum Occupational Therapist to support the 0-25 Adaptations service at Gateshead Council. This role focuses on reducing waiting lists by providing timely assessments and adaptations for children and young people.

Location: Gateshead Council, Civic Centre, NE8 1HH
Pay Rate: £27.49 per hour

Main Purpose of the Role
To provide occupational therapy input specifically for adaptations for children and young people aged 0-25, helping to reduce waiting times and ensure timely support. You will be responsible for assessing needs, recommending equipment or adaptations, and liaising with families, carers, and relevant professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload focusing on adaptations for 0-25-year-olds
  • Complete assessments in homes or other relevant settings
  • Recommend and coordinate appropriate equipment or adaptations
  • Provide advice and support to families, carers, and partner agencies
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for all assessments and interventions
  • Contribute to reducing waiting lists and improving service delivery

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience in community or paediatric occupational therapy
  • Knowledge of equipment and adaptations for children and young people
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
  • Strong communication and liaison skills with families and professionals
