Senior Social Worker - Children & Families Team

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Children and Families Team within Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to join a supportive local authority team on an ongoing agency contract, contributing to positive outcomes for children and families.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing a complex caseload of children and families, delivering high-quality assessments and interventions to ensure safeguarding and improved outcomes. The role requires strong practice knowledge and the ability to work effectively within a busy statutory team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and families in need of support and safeguarding
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments and care planning
  • Work within child protection procedures and court processes where required
  • Prepare and present reports for meetings and legal proceedings
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ensure all case recording and documentation is accurate and up to date

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in Children's Services
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and statutory frameworks
  • Experience managing complex caseloads
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and report writing skills
