About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join the Children & Families Team in St. Helens. In this role, you will be responsible for working with children and families in need of support, safeguarding vulnerable children, and making key decisions about their wellbeing and future care. You will work alongside a dynamic team committed to providing the highest level of support to families, focusing on outcomes for children in challenging circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake assessments of children and families, working to identify risk factors and develop support plans.
  • Provide intervention and support services for children and families in crisis.
  • Work closely with other professionals, including health, education, and other social care teams, to ensure children's needs are met.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, including child protection conferences and case reviews.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance in relation to safeguarding children.
  • Ensure that statutory responsibilities are met in accordance with child protection procedures.

Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification and HCPC registration.
  • Proven experience in a Children & Families setting, including safeguarding, assessment, and intervention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and practice frameworks within children's social care.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable.
