We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Qualified Social Worker (Sr. QSW) to join our Children In Need Team in Birmingham. As a Senior Qualified Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including health professionals, educators, and law enforcement, to safeguard children.
- Providing supervision and support to junior social workers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and organizational policies.
- Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in a statutory children’s services setting, particularly within the Children In Need framework.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
