Join Enfield Councils Customer Operations Team
Are you an experienced Council Tax professional with excellent customer service skills? Enfield Council is looking for a knowledgeable and customer-focused Council Tax Officer to join our Customer Operations team.
As one of the first points of contact for residents, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality telephone and webchat service, helping customers resolve their enquiries efficiently while promoting self-service options where appropriate.

About the Role
Working within our Contact Centre, you will provide specialist advice and support on a wide range of Council Tax, Council Tax Support, Housing Benefit, and recovery enquiries. You will handle complex customer queries, ensuring residents receive accurate information and excellent service at every interaction.

Key responsibilities include:
* Providing specialist advice on Council Tax billing, collection, recovery, and Council Tax Support.
* Assisting customers with Housing Benefit enquiries.
* Delivering a professional and customer-focused service via telephone and webchat.
* Supporting customers to resolve issues at first contact whenever possible.
* Promoting and assisting customers with online self-service options.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and council policies.

What Were Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Proven experience dealing with the full range of Council Tax and Housing Benefit enquiries.
* Strong knowledge of Council Tax billing, collection, recovery processes, and support schemes.
* Experience using Civica systems, including Open Revenues and D360.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* A positive, proactive approach and a genuine commitment to helping customers.
* The ability to manage complex enquiries accurately and professionally.

Working Arrangements
* Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
* Hybrid working model.
* Attendance at Enfield Civic Centre required at least two days per week, with additional office attendance as required.
