Job Title: Qualified Social Worker - Mental Health Social Care Team
Location: Kingston (Hybrid - based at Tolworth Hospital)
Salary: £40,755 - £45,510 per annum + £1,000 Welcome Bonus
Contract: Permanent | Full Time

The Royal Borough of Kingston is seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join our Mental Health Social Care Team (MHSCT) - one of two specialist teams within Adult Social Care.

About the Service:
The MHSCT delivers statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act, supporting adults whose primary need is related to their mental health. We also work with individuals with autism, substance misuse issues, and young people transitioning into adulthood.

The team is co-located with NHS colleagues at Tolworth Hospital, operating on a hybrid working model. We work closely with mental health wards, community partners, and other services to provide high-quality support.

About the Role:
You will:

Manage complex cases involving safeguarding and Court of Protection work

Complete assessments and reviews under the Care Act and MCA

Collaborate with NHS and community partners

Supervise junior staff and support their development

Be supported by senior practitioners and a dedicated management structure

About You:
Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration

Strong post-qualifying experience in statutory settings

Experience in mental health, safeguarding, and complex casework

Knowledge of relevant legislation (Care Act, MCA, MHA)

Excellent communication, assessment, and report writing skills

Willingness to pursue AMHP training as part of a structured progression pathway
