Child Protection Team Manager - Newcastle City Council

Newcastle City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protection Team Manager to join our team in the Admin Clerical field. As the Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the Child Protection Team to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Managing a team of social workers and support staff to deliver high-quality child protection services
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to safeguard children at risk
  • Providing leadership, support, and supervision to team members
  • Collaborating with external agencies and partners to coordinate interventions and support for vulnerable children and families
  • Participating in case conferences, reviews, and court hearings as required

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant experience in child protection
  • Demonstrated experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a social work setting
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
