Child Protection Team Manager - Newcastle City Council
Newcastle City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protection Team Manager to join our team in the Admin Clerical field. As the Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the Child Protection Team to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Managing a team of social workers and support staff to deliver high-quality child protection services
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to safeguard children at risk
- Providing leadership, support, and supervision to team members
- Collaborating with external agencies and partners to coordinate interventions and support for vulnerable children and families
- Participating in case conferences, reviews, and court hearings as required
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant experience in child protection
- Demonstrated experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a social work setting
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
Additional requirements for this role may include a valid driver's license, as travel within the region may be necessary.
