As a Children's Social Worker in our Fostering Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments of prospective foster carers to ensure they meet the necessary standards and can provide a safe environment for children.
  • Providing ongoing support, training, and supervision to foster families to enhance their skills and confidence.
  • Working collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of children.
  • Monitoring the progress of children in foster care and ensuring their emotional and physical well-being.
  • Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working in children's social work, particularly within fostering or adoption.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children and families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
