We are currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker - Fostering Team to join a well-established Children's Services team in Darlington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated social worker to join a supportive local authority and contribute to the delivery of high-quality fostering services, helping to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

About the Role

As a Qualified Social Worker within the Fostering Team, you will be responsible for undertaking fostering assessments, supporting foster carers, and ensuring children placed in foster care receive effective support and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete fostering assessments and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Support, supervise, and review foster carers.
  • Undertake visits, assessments, and statutory checks in line with regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, foster carers, and partner agencies.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for fostering panels and reviews.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Promote positive outcomes for children and young people in care.

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant post-qualifying experience.
  • Experience working within a Fostering Team or Children's Services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, fostering regulations, and statutory frameworks.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively.
