Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for QSW for their Family Safeguarding Team.
Location: Cambridgeshire County Council
Pay Rate: £39] per hour
Contract: Temporary
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and committed Qualified Social Worker to join a Family Safeguarding Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive service focused on keeping families together safely and improving outcomes for children.
You will work with children and families where there are safeguarding concerns, using a strengths-based approach to reduce risks and promote long-term stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and care proceedings
- Undertake assessments, including risk assessments and parenting assessments
- Carry out statutory visits and ensure compliance with timescales
- Develop and implement outcome-focused care and safety plans
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children
- Prepare clear and analytical reports for court and case conferences
- Engage families using a strengths-based and relationship-focused approach
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW or equivalent)
- Registered with Social Work England
- Proven experience within safeguarding, Child Protection, or Child in Need teams
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage complex cases and work under pressure

Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
