About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and committed Qualified Social Worker to join a Family Safeguarding Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive service focused on keeping families together safely and improving outcomes for children.

You will work with children and families where there are safeguarding concerns, using a strengths-based approach to reduce risks and promote long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and care proceedings
  • Undertake assessments, including risk assessments and parenting assessments
  • Carry out statutory visits and ensure compliance with timescales
  • Develop and implement outcome-focused care and safety plans
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children
  • Prepare clear and analytical reports for court and case conferences
  • Engage families using a strengths-based and relationship-focused approach

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW or equivalent)
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Proven experience within safeguarding, Child Protection, or Child in Need teams
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
  • Ability to manage complex cases and work under pressure

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
