Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for your next locum opportunity in a progressive and well-supported Local Authority?

Cambridgeshire County Council is currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team based at Noble House in Ely, offering a strong hybrid working model and a stable capped rate.

About the Role

This is a frontline safeguarding role where you will manage a varied caseload across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children in Care (CIC).

You will play a key role in safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring positive outcomes through effective assessment, planning, and intervention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing statutory visits for CIN, CP, and CIC cases
  • Managing a diverse caseload including CIN, CP, and CIC
  • Chairing Child in Need (CIN) and Core Group meetings
  • Attending and contributing to ICPC and RCPC conferences
  • Preparing high-quality conference reports and assessments
  • Undertaking risk assessments and parenting assessments
  • Completing court reports and supporting cases within PLO and Section 31 care proceedings
  • Attending court with support from Senior Practitioners or Team Managers
  • Participating in the duty rota
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with 3+ years PQE in UK Local Authorities
  • Social Work England registration
  • Experience in CIN, CP, and CIC work
  • Experience with court work, PLO, and care proceedings
  • Strong assessment, report writing, and risk management skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
