Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for your next locum opportunity in a progressive and well-supported Local Authority?
Cambridgeshire County Council is currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team based at Noble House in Ely, offering a strong hybrid working model and a stable capped rate.
About the Role
This is a frontline safeguarding role where you will manage a varied caseload across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children in Care (CIC).
You will play a key role in safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring positive outcomes through effective assessment, planning, and intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Completing statutory visits for CIN, CP, and CIC cases
- Managing a diverse caseload including CIN, CP, and CIC
- Chairing Child in Need (CIN) and Core Group meetings
- Attending and contributing to ICPC and RCPC conferences
- Preparing high-quality conference reports and assessments
- Undertaking risk assessments and parenting assessments
- Completing court reports and supporting cases within PLO and Section 31 care proceedings
- Attending court with support from Senior Practitioners or Team Managers
- Participating in the duty rota
- Working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals

Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with 3+ years PQE in UK Local Authorities
- Social Work England registration
- Experience in CIN, CP, and CIC work
- Experience with court work, PLO, and care proceedings
- Strong assessment, report writing, and risk management skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
