Pay Rate: £35.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: SK1 3XE, Stockport
Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Qualified Social Worker to join the Kinship Care Team at Stockport Council.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated Kinship Care Team, supporting children to remain within their extended family network wherever it is safe and appropriate to do so. You will undertake kinship and viability assessments, support kinship carers, and work closely with children, families and partner agencies to achieve safe, stable and permanent outcomes.
You will play a key role in assessing prospective kinship carers, developing support plans, completing statutory reports, and ensuring that all interventions are delivered in line with safeguarding legislation and children's social care best practice.
Key Skills Required:
Previous experience within Kinship Care, Fostering, Permanence or Children's Services
Strong knowledge of kinship assessments, safeguarding and statutory children's social care legislation
Experience undertaking viability and kinship assessments, supporting kinship carers and preparing court and assessment reports
Excellent assessment, analytical and report writing skills
Strong communication and multi-agency partnership working abilities
Ability to manage a varied caseload while achieving positive outcomes for children and families
Social Work England registration required
Essential Requirements:
Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
Registered with Social Work England
Previous experience within Children's Services
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, permanence planning and kinship care practice
