Havering Council is currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and dedicated Social Worker to support children and young people who are looked after, ensuring their needs, safety, and long-term outcomes remain at the centre of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied caseload of Children in Care, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met
  • Completing regular statutory visits, assessments, care planning, and reviews
  • Working collaboratively with children, young people, families, carers, and multi-agency partners
  • Supporting permanency planning and achieving positive outcomes for children
  • Preparing high-quality reports and attending meetings, reviews, and court proceedings where required
  • Ensuring safeguarding concerns are identified and managed effectively

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Recent experience within a Children in Care / Looked After Children Team
  • Strong knowledge of statutory social work practice and safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment
