Office Based - 5 Days per Week

North East Lincolnshire Council is looking for an ICP Worker to join their Initial Contact Point (ICP) within the Integrated Front Door (IFD) service.

This is a key role at the very start of a child's journey with social care, where you will play an important part in ensuring children receive the right support at the right time.

About the Role

As an ICP Worker, you will:

  • Take calls relating to children who are not open to Children's Social Care or Family Help
  • Speak with members of the public and professionals who may have concerns
  • Use a strengths-based approach to gather clear and accurate information
  • Record information directly onto Liquidlogic during calls
  • Identify whether the contact is a request for Family Help or presents safeguarding concerns
  • Carry out multi-agency checks and further information gathering
  • Analyse information and contribute to creating an appropriate support plan
  • Escalate safeguarding concerns to a Social Worker and Practice Supervisor where required

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Calm and able to work under pressure
  • Passionate about children's services
  • Confident in handling sensitive and sometimes difficult conversations
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Curious and confident in asking clarifying questions
  • A team player who understands the importance of their role at the start of a child's journey

You will be joining a supportive and committed team that places children at the centre of decision-making and works collaboratively every day to achieve the best outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
