Job Location: Hull, HU1 area

Hull City Council is looking for a dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join their Locality Team, where your role will be central to safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring positive outcomes for the most vulnerable in the community.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a supportive team in a council known for putting children at the heart of everything they do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload including children in need, child protection, and looked-after children.

  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop care plans, and implement timely interventions.

  • Work closely with families and multi-agency partners to ensure child-centred practice.

  • Ensure statutory responsibilities and deadlines are met in line with legislation and best practice.

  • Attend relevant meetings such as child protection conferences and court proceedings.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records on all casework.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

  • Previous experience working within a Locality or Safeguarding team.

  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, thresholds, and family support.

  • Excellent communication, time management, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
