Barnsley Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Social Worker to join our Adults Locality Team, with a focus on Reablement. The ideal candidate will work with individuals, families, and carers using a strengths-based approach to promote independence, well-being, and informed decision-making. Key responsibilities include safeguarding work, Mental Capacity assessments, risk assessments, care planning, and commissioning support services using reablement and community resources.

What We're Looking For:

Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act 1998, and Making Safeguarding Personal principles

HCPC or Social Work England registration

Proven experience in adult social care and multidisciplinary working

Excellent communication and assessment skills

Ability to construct cost-effective care packages and deliver person-centred outcomes
