Future Directions (Care Leaving Service) Team Manager - Barnsley

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Future Directions (Care Leaving Service) Team Manager to join our team in Barnsley. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the provision of support and guidance to young people transitioning from care to independent living.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Manage a team of social workers and support staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to care leavers.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans to support young people in their transition to independence, focusing on education, employment, housing, and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, including local authorities, schools, and community organizations, to provide comprehensive support to care leavers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support services, making recommendations for improvements and implementing changes as necessary.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a valid registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with care leavers and young people in a social care setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people and stakeholders.
