About the Role
Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking an experienced and proactive Qualified Social Worker to join its Integrated Front Door (MASH) Team.
This is a fast-paced, multi-agency environment where you will be responsible for screening and triaging referrals, assessing risk, and making timely decisions to safeguard children. You will work closely with partner agencies to ensure that children and families receive the right support at the earliest opportunity.
You will play a vital role in ensuring effective information sharing, risk analysis, and threshold decision-making at the front door of Children's Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage and screen incoming referrals within the MASH/Integrated Front Door
* Gather and analyse information from multi-agency partners
* Assess risk and make threshold decisions in line with safeguarding frameworks
* Initiate Child & Family Assessments and Section 47 enquiries where appropriate
* Provide timely and informed decision-making to safeguard children
* Work collaboratively with police, health, education, and other agencies
* Maintain accurate and high-quality case records and reports
* Contribute to strategy discussions and safeguarding processes
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
* Experience within MASH / Integrated Front Door / Duty & Assessment
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, thresholds, and statutory processes
* Experience in risk assessment, referral screening, and multi-agency working
* Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
* Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
