Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker looking for your next agency role in Cambridgeshire?

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their busy and supportive Assessment Team (South) based in Cambridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for Social Workers with strong experience in Assessment, Safeguarding, CIN, Child Protection, and Children & Families, looking for a stable contract with a strong local authority.

The Assessment Team is a lively, fast-paced service focused on delivering timely and high-quality interventions for children, young people, and families.

You will work closely with families and professionals to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments
  • Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries
  • Manage safeguarding and child protection cases
  • Carry out risk assessments and intervention planning
  • Prepare reports for strategy meetings, conferences, and court where required
  • Work closely with schools, health, police, and partner agencies
  • Ensure the child's voice is central to all decision making

This role requires confidence in managing fast-paced statutory work and working to tight deadlines.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree / MA / PGDip)
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Minimum 3+ years PQE within UK Children's Services
  • Recent Assessment Team / Safeguarding experience
  • Strong understanding of CIN, CP, and statutory assessments
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred
  • Available for hybrid working (2/3 office days)
