We are currently supporting Surrey County Council who are looking to appoint an experienced Adolescent Safeguarding Social Worker to join their specialist adolescent safeguarding service.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic and specialist team supporting young people at risk of exploitation, contextual harm, and complex safeguarding concerns.

The Role

You will be working within an adolescent safeguarding team supporting young people at risk of:

  • Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE)
  • Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
  • Missing episodes and return home interviews
  • Contextual safeguarding risks (peer groups, gangs, locations of risk)
  • High-risk family breakdown and complex adolescent behaviour

You will undertake statutory social work interventions, risk assessments, and multi-agency safeguarding planning to improve outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of complex adolescent safeguarding cases
  • Completing high-quality assessments and safeguarding plans
  • Working closely with police, education, health, youth justice, and exploitation services
  • Attending strategy meetings, case conferences, and multi-agency meetings
  • Undertaking direct work with young people and families
  • Ensuring robust risk management and child protection planning
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case recording

Essential Requirements

  • 3+ years PQE working as a Qualified Social Worker in an English Local Authority
  • SWE registration
  • Strong experience in safeguarding children or adolescent services
  • Experience of CCE, CSE, exploitation, or contextual safeguarding
  • Ability to manage complex and high-risk caseloads
  • Strong court report writing and assessment skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
