Rate: £40 per hour (Umbrella)
Hull City Council is looking for a passionate and experienced Team Manager to lead Assessment Team 3. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated social work professional who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children and families, while leading a committed and dynamic team.
About the Role:
As Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality assessments and interventions for children and families in Hull. You will provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to your team, ensuring that all work meets statutory and professional standards. Your role will be essential in safeguarding vulnerable children, supporting families, and promoting positive outcomes across the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead, and inspire a team of social workers, fostering a supportive and high-performing environment.
- Oversee complex cases, providing professional guidance and ensuring timely and effective assessments.
- Develop strong, collaborative relationships with children, families, and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
- Ensure that safeguarding practices are robust, consistently applied, and in line with statutory requirements.
- Monitor team performance, delivering constructive supervision, appraisals, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to service planning and development, identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a management or senior social work role, ideally within children's services.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high professional standards.
