We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Cheshire East - UASC Team at a competitive rate of £40 per hour. As part of this vital team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and guidance to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) within the Cheshire East area.
Key responsibilities and duties of this role include:
- Conducting assessments and developing care plans for UASC to ensure their safety and well-being
- Working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to provide comprehensive support to UASC
- Advocating for the rights and best interests of UASC in all decision-making processes
- Participating in case conferences, court hearings, and reviews to represent the needs of UASC
- Providing crisis intervention and emotional support to UASC facing challenging situations
The ideal candidate for this position will possess:
- A recognized Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
- Demonstrated experience working with UASC and a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with UASC, families, and stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of practice
In addition to the essential qualifications and skills, candidates with fluency in languages commonly spoken by asylum seekers and refugees will be highly regarded.
