Eden Brown Synergy are working in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council to recruit an experienced Team Manager within the Family Safeguarding Service.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader to oversee a well-structured team of 6, consisting of Child Practitioners, Experienced Social Workers, and a Community Support Worker (CSW), ensuring consistently high standards of child protection and care proceedings practice.
About the Role - Family Safeguarding Team Manager
As Team Manager, you will:
- Lead and oversee high-quality social work practice across child protection and care proceedings
- Provide clear management oversight, guidance, and supervision to frontline practitioners
- Review, challenge, and sign off care plans, support packages, and interventions in line with legislative frameworks
- Take responsibility for complex and high-risk cases, applying sound professional judgement and decision-making
- Support staff development and ensure performance meets service expectations
- Work collaboratively with senior managers, safeguarding partners, and external agencies
- Drive continuous improvement across the Family Safeguarding model
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver effective safeguarding outcomes for children and families
- Resolve complex and high-risk situations using negotiation, influence, and professional expertise
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, external organisations, and the wider community
- Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, policies, and safeguarding legislation
- Deploy resources effectively and deliver against service objectives and performance targets
Requirements - Team Manager Social Work Hertfordshire
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Proven experience as a Team Manager or Senior Practitioner in Children's Services
- Strong background in child protection, care proceedings, and safeguarding
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and lead a team effectively
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (ESSENTIAL)
