Occupational Therapist - Adults Enablement Service

Pay Rate: £32.60 per hour
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Richmond and Wandsworth Councils Enablement Service.
The service is committed to promoting independence, improving health outcomes, and enhancing the overall wellbeing of residents. The Enablement Team provides short-term, strengths-based support (up to 6 weeks), receiving referrals from community teams, social work teams, and hospitals.
We are a creative, dynamic, and supportive team, seeking Occupational Therapists who share our commitment to high-quality, person-centred practice.
About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Work with adults aged 18+, managing a varied caseload requiring assessment, review, and ongoing support
- Undertake regular in-person home visits as part of assessments and interventions
- Work in partnership with residents, families, carers, and care agencies to promote independence, strengths, and wellbeing
- Support individuals to identify outcomes, manage change, and understand risks in daily living activities
- Assess and recommend specialist equipment, minor adaptations, and standard wheelchairs
- Support safe installation, use, and maintenance of equipment in the community
- Complete Moving and Handling Risk Assessments, including provision of equipment, advice, demonstrations, training, and Personal Handling Plans
- Maintain accurate and timely case recording on the Mosaic system
- Work collaboratively within a hybrid model, including office-based work at Wandsworth Council, home working, and community visits
- Manage workload effectively in line with service priorities
The standard working week is 36 hours, Monday to Friday, with optional overtime available at weekends. This is a hybrid role combining office, home, and community-based working.

Essential Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration
- Experience delivering positive outcomes in adult social care through multi-disciplinary and partnership working
- Strong knowledge of relevant social care and health legislation and policy
- Sound understanding of Occupational Therapy models, methods, and practice across community settings
- Ability to complete complex assessments, risk management, and strengths-based interventions
