Devon - Advanced Social Worker - Front Door/MASH

Devon County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Social Worker to join our Front Door/Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. This pivotal role is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community. As an Advanced Social Worker, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding practices, providing critical assessments and interventions that make a real difference in people's lives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in need of support, ensuring their safety and welfare.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to develop and implement effective safeguarding plans.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on complex cases.
  • Leading and mentoring less experienced social workers and support staff.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with statutory requirements.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
