Are you experienced in SEN casework and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)?

Harrow Council is currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable SEN Casework Officer to join our SEN Assessment, Review and Support (SENARS) team. You will play a key role in managing Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and reviews for children and young people aged 0-25, ensuring their plans are clear, effective, and legally compliant.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a defined caseload through the EHC assessment and annual review process.
* Draft and amend EHC Plans in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015).
* Attend and contribute to Annual Reviews, professional meetings, and panel presentations.
* Provide guidance to parents, schools, and professionals on SEN legislation and statutory duties.
* Collaborate with multi-agency partners across education, health, and social care.
* Maintain accurate records on internal systems (CAPITA ONE or similar).
* Use SharePoint or other storage systems for document management.
* Support compliance with statutory timescales and contribute to service reporting.

Essential Requirements:
* Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and the Children and Families Act (2014).
* Proven experience managing SEN casework, including drafting and amending EHC Plans.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - able to liaise confidently with professionals and families.
* Ability to assess and interpret professional advice and contribute to statutory documentation.
* Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience with CAPITA ONE and SharePoint desirable.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
* A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSEs A-C or equivalent in English and Maths).

* Familiarity with Harrow's local procedures and policies.
* Ability to work independently and travel for work-related meetings.
