We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Herefordshire CP/CIN Team on a permanent basis. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families in the local community.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Undertake assessments and make informed decisions on the most appropriate course of action for children and families.
  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the needs of children and ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, agencies, and stakeholders to provide a coordinated approach to support families.
  • Provide direct support and intervention to children and families in crisis situations, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld.
  • Participate in case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings to advocate for the best interests of children.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within child protection and children in need services.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills to effectively evaluate complex situations and risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, families, and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage caseloads efficiently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
